About Me
I am a new teacher who is committed to teaching literature in a way that nurtures critical thinking, curiosity, and self-reliance. Community-oriented strategies and a decentralized classroom form the backbone of my teaching strategy. I believe that natural curiosity is present in all students. When designing lessons, I always try to think of ways that student choice can personalize and shape the education of each young person.

I was raised in the mountains of North Georgia and bring the warmth of a rural community to the forefront in my classroom. Each student is a valuable member of our community and has a right to have their voices heard regardless of their characteristics or background. It is vital that, as a teacher, I avoid trying to be the center of this community. I choose to position myself as a cooperator rather than as a dictator.
